(BulkFleet Marine Corp., Signet Marine Group)

Founded in 1976, by J. Barry Snyder, a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. Snyder initially founded the company as the BulkFleet Marine Corporation of Houston, Texas.

The Bulkfleet Marine Corporation designed, constructed, and operated the first 30,000 deadweight ton, heavy fuel oil, 8,000 horsepower tug and barge units.

The Bulkfleet Marine Corporation expanded the company's operations into the Signet Group of Shipping. Which was an intermodal, and harbor docking company engaged in bulk petroleum distribution, inland towing, rig and energy support, as well as ship management.

In 1984, the company was consolidated into the Signet Maritime Corporation of Houston, Texas. Which provided for the expansion into ocean towing, and intermodal services. The Signet Maritime Corporation then acquired Ocean Transportation Services Incorporated from the Foss Maritime Company that same year. Which allowed the Signet Maritime Corporation break-bulk, and project cargo capabilities.

In 1999, the company acquired the Gulf of Mexico to South America shipping business from the Sea Freight Companies of Houston, Texas. Which allowed the Signet Maritime Corporation the capacity to move project cargoes, and break bulk materials in modern ocean vessels worldwide.

In 2003, the Signet Maritime Corporation acquired Garrett Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Which increased the company's presence in Ingleside, Texas. And, Aransas Pass, Texas. Wtilizing Garrett Marine Incorporated's three vessels.

In 2010, the company acquired the Colle Towing Company Incorporated of Pascagoula, Mississippi. The acquisition added a full service shipyard to the company's portfolio. The Signet Shipbuilding and Repair Company was established in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The yard became the offshore energy support, barge transport, and Liquified Natural Gas operations center for the Signet Maritime Corporation.

In 2014, the company acquired Harvey Gulf Marine International's tug division of New Orleans. Expanding the company's offshore towing, and rig support capabilities.
