Built in 2013, by the Signet Shipbuilding and Repair Company of Pascagoula, Mississippi (hull #106) as the Signet Magic for the Signet Maritime Corporation of Houston, Texas.

The tug was designed by the Naval Architecture firm Robert Allen Limited of Vancouver, British Columbia for the Signet Maritime Corporation of Houston, Texas.

Powered by two, Tier III compliant, Caterpillar 3516C HD diesel engines. With Rolls Royce US 205-FP z-drives. Outfitted with two, 2400(mm) four bladed Nibral propellers, for a rated 5,150 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Tier III, 125 kW, John Deere 6068AFM85 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 26,977 gallons of fuel, 7,427 gallons of potable water, 344 gallons of lube oil, 87 gallons of hydraulic oil, 493 gallons of dirty oil storage, and 5,071 gallons of ballast.

The towing equipment consists of a 50 horsepower, electric Markey DEPCF winch. Outfitted with 540(ft) 2.75(in) Samson Saturn 12 hawser, on the bow. And, an electric 20 horsepower Markey DEPC-32 winch. Outfitted with 300(ft) of 2.75(in) Quantum 12 hawser.

Her firefighting capabilities consists of an Ampco ZCH2 4X3C FiFi 1 system. With a 100 horsepower Baldor Electric Motor turning at 3,560(RPMs). Feeding a remote controlled Akron Brass 3678 fire monitor. Rated at 1,000(gpm) with a 235(ft) range.
