Built in 1981, by Terrebonne Shipbuilders Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #25) as the Jonathan T. for Sea Tiger Marine Services Incorporated of Bayonne, New Jersey. A subsidy of Wittich Marine Incorporated of Bayonne, New Jersey.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by the Christiana Marine Services Corporation of Wilmington, Delaware. Where she was renamed as the New Castle.

In 2005, she was acquired by Wittich Marine Incorporated of Bayonne, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Sea Tiger.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where she was was renamed as the Caspian Sea.

In 2011, the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2013, the Kirby Corporation's Philadelphia, Pennsylvania operation. Also known as River Associates Incorporated. Was acquired by the Vane Brothers Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Where the tug was renamed as the Paradise Creek.

Renamed for the tributary of the Elizabeth River in Portsmouth, Virginia. Where Vane Brothers maintains a fleet, and port of operations.

In 2019, the tug was acquired by W3 Marine Incorporated of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Emmy Lou.

Originally powered by two, Detriot Diesel 16V-92 diesel engines. With Twin Disc 527 reduction gears. gears. In 2001, Wittich Marine Incorporated re powered the tug at Blount Marine Incorporated of Warren, Rhode Island. With two, Caterpillar 3508 diesel engines. With Twin Disc 527 reduction gears. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Detroit Diesel 3-71 generator sets. The towing equipment originally consisted of a single drum, Samtco towing winch. Driven by a single Detroit Diesel 3-71 diesel engine. In 2001, Wittich Marine Incorporated installed a new single drum, Nabrico towing winch. Driven by a single, Detroit Diesel 3-71 diesel engine.
