Built in 1965, by Breaux's Bay Craft Incorporated of Loreauville, Louisiana (hull #723) as the Robert B. for the B2 Towing Company of Pearland, Texas

In 1974, the tug was acquired by the Western Towing Company of Houston, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 1981. she was acquired by Echo Towing Service Incorporated of Baytown, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Nita E.

Rebuilt in 1999, and repowered in 2004. She is powered by two, Mitsubishi S6A3-MPTA diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of5:1. Turning two, 56(in) by 50(in) fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,000 horsepower.

Her towing equipment consists of two, Nabrico, 20 Ton electric face winches.
