DORIS McKINNEY

Built in 1974, by Master Marine Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #162) as the Doris McKinney for McKinney Harbor Towing Incorporated of Slidell, Louisiana.

In 1987, the tug was acquired by Central Gulf Lines Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was rebuilt and renamed as the Sea Ox.

In 2000, she was acquired by Garber Brothers Incorporated Morgan City, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

Rebuilt in 2002, the tug is powered by two, Detriot Diesel 12V-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc 514 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. Turning two, four bladed, 60(in) by 64(in), fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW Isuzu generator sets. The tug's capacities are 8,500 gallons of fuel, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 3,500 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of two, 40 ton, Nabrico face winches.
