Built in 2023, by Conrad Shipyard Incorporated of Amelia, Louisiana (hull #C-1321) as the Cape Canaveral for the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company of Houston, Texas.

The tug was the second in a series of two Damen 3013 Multicats for the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company designed the Netherlands-based Damen Shipyard Group.

Powered by three, Tier III compliant, Caterpillar C32 TTA diesel engines. With WAF 464L Reverse Reduction gears, at a ratio 5.59:1. Turning three, Promarin fixed-pitch propellers mounted Optima kort nozzles. She is a triple screw multicat, rated at 2,500 horsepower. As well as an azimuthing 310-hp bow thruster.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Caterpillar C 04.4 generator sets. With a third, Caterpillar 3412D TTA engine providing hydraulic power.
