Built in 2012, by Eymard Marine Construction and Repair Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana (hull #110) as the Caleb J. Eymard for the Eymard Brothers Towing Company Incorporated of Marrero, Louisiana.

In 2013, the tug was acquired by Progressive Barge Line Incorporated of Westwego, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Uncle Sam.

In 2019, Progressive Barge Line Incorporated was acquired by Savage Marine Services of Salt Lake City, Utah. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2020, Savage Marine Services Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Tier II compliant, Cummins KTA38-M2 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,000 horsepower.
