Formed in 2002, the Martin Midstream Partnership was a product of the Martin Resource Management Corporation, also known as Martin Resource Management.

Which was a privately held company whose initial predecessor was incorporated in 1951, as a supplier of products and services to drilling rig contractors.

Martin Resource Management has since expanded their operations operations through acquisitions, and internal expansion initiatives. As its management identified, and capitalized on the needs of producers and purchasers of hydrocarbon products and by-products and other bulk liquids.
