TEXAN

Built in 1979, by Modern Marine Power Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #24) as the Texan for Odyssea Vessels Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana.

In 2008, the tug was acquired by the Martin Midstream Partnership Incorporated of Vidor, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 2020, the tug was scrapped.

Outfitted with a Bludworth coupler system. Originally powered by two, Fairbanks Morse 12-38TD diesel engines. The tug was later re powered with two, sixteen cylinder, Alco E 16-251 diesel engines. With Lufkin reduction gears, turning two, 120(in) by 76(in), fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 7,130 horsepower.

Her electrical service was provided by two John Deere 6068 TEM-5D, generator sets. The tug's capacities were 86,000 gallons of fuel, 5,031 gallons of lube oil, and 10,160 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consisted of and HC-20, emergency towing capstan, mounted on her stern.

She was "married" with the 52,169(bbls), 369.6(ft), by 56(ft), by 26(ft), gasoline barge, the Ponciana. Which was constructed simultaneously in 1979, by West Gulf Marine of Galveston, Texas (hull #53) as the Ponciana for Odyssea Vessels Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana.
