(ANDERSON TUG & BARGE INC, Foss Marine Holdings, Incorporated (a Saltchuk Resources, Incorporated company)

Founded in 1924, by the Anderson Family. The company was originally named as the Anderson and Son’s Transportation Company. The family owned business helped build Alaska by providing marine services to contract mail, passenger, and cargo services, between Cook Inlet and Prince William Sound. And, all the way to Kodiak, Dutch Harbor, Anchorage, and Seward. And, as far south as Puget Sound.

The company was reincorporated after World War II as the Cook Inlet Tug and Barge Incorporated. After the 1964, earthquake Cook Inlet Tug and Barge refocused its efforts by providing premium marine services throughout South Central Alaska. Especially in the areas of Cook Inlet, and the Port of Anchorage.

In 2011, Cook Inlet Tug and Barge was acquired by Foss Marine Holdings Incorporated. A subsidiary of the Saltchuk Resources Incorporated Company. Which is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

However, Cook Inlet Tug and Barge Incorporated is operated an independent subsidiary of Foss Marine Holdings.
