Built in 1974, by the Diamond Manufacturing Company of Savannah, Georgia (hull #404A) as the Capt. Joe Stewart for Biblia Incorporated of Savannah, Georgia.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by the Hardaway Company of Columbus, Georgia. Where she was renamed as the Joe Stewart.

The tug was later sold, where she was renamed as the Capt. Pat Costanzo.

In 2005, she was acquired by Triumph Towing and Salvage Incorporated of Largo, Florida. Where the tug was renamed as the Captain Pat L.E.

In 2005, Triumph Towing and Salvage Incorporated renamed the tug as the Capt. Pat L.E.

In 2013, the tug was acquired by H.G. Harders and Son Incorporated of Panama City, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Samson.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 680 horsepower.
