Built in 1954, by Rowe Industries Incorporated of Georgetown, South Carolina (hull #2) as the Fort Edisto for Wayland T. Coppedge Jr. of the White Stack Towing Company of Jacksonville, Florida.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by the Richards Marine Service of Charleston, South Carolina. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2006, she was acquired by Coastline Marine Towing Incorporated of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Where the tug was renamed as the Mary Beth D.

In 2014, the tug went out of documentation. Her current, and or final disposition is unknown. She was a single screw tug, rated at 500 horsepower.
