Built in 2013, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #435) as the Horace Cenac for the Cenac Towing Company Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana.

In 2019, the Cenac Towing Company was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by three, Cummins KTA 38 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.3:1. Turning three, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, in kort nozzles. She is a triple screw tug, rated at 3,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 65kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 60,000 gallons of fuel, 1,600 gallons of lube, and 15,000 gallons of water.
