THEODORE

Built in 1960, by Gladding Hearn Shipbuilding Incorporated Somerset Massachusetts (hull #49) as the G.W. Ward for the North Atlantic Dredging Company of New York, New York.

The tug was later acquired by the Gibson and Cushman Dredging Company of Bay Shore, New York. Where she was renamed as the Theodore.

In 1997, she was acquired by Captain Arthur Fournier of the Portland Tugboat and Shipdocking Company of Portland, Maine. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2001, the tug was acquired by the Ginalski Tugboat Company of Warren, Rhode Island. Where she retained her name. The tug was withdrawn from the United States Coast Guard registry, and redocumented as a recreational vessel in the state of Rhode Island.

Originally powered by a single, Detroit Diesel 6-110 diesel engine. The tug was re powered with a single, Detroit Diesel 12-71 diesel engine.
