Built in 1980, by the Hikari Industrial Company of Yokusuka, Japan (hull #786) as the Kinuura.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by the Malayan Towage and Salvage Company of Makati, Philippines. Where she was renamed as the Goliath.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Cabras Marine Corporation of Piti, Guam. Where the tug retained her name, and was transferred to the United States flag.
