Built in 1962, by the Wiley Manufacturing Company of Port Deposit, Maryland (hull #599) as the Chauncey for C.G. Willis Incorporated of Paulsboro, New Jersey.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by Waterway Transport Incorporated of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Where she was renamed as the Sharon C.

In 2012, she was acquired by Intracoastal Marine Incorporated of Chesapeake, Virginia. Where the tug was renamed as the Hoss.

In 2021, the company was acquired by Dale Martin of Lafayette, Louisiana. Intercoastal Marine Incorporated became part of the Intra Marine Group of Lafayette, Louisiana. And is operated as a division of the Intra Marine Group.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 398 diesel engines, with Lufkin reduction gears. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW, Detroit Diesel 3-71 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 20,000 gallons of fuel, 500 gallons of lube oil, and 5,000 gallons of water.
