GULF LANCE

Built in 1974, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #300) as the Miss Juanita for the Fonteneau and Smith Boat Company of Morgan City, Louisiana.

In 1978, the Fonteneau and Smith Boat Company was acquired by Newpark Marine Services Incorporated of The Woodlands, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Newpark Sunspot.

In 1983, the tug was acquired by the Gulf Fleet Marine Corporation of Houston, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Gulf Lance.

In 1985, Zapata Marine Service, Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated, and Jackson Marine Services merged to form Zapata Gulf Marine Service Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1992, Zapata Gulf Marine Incorporated merged with Tidewater Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by Pelican Towing Incorporated of Palm Harbor, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Pelican Magic.

In 1999, she was acquired by the Bisso Marine Company of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the W.A.B.

In 2012, the tug was acquired by Dawn Offshore Services Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Pacific Dawn.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, Caterpillar 3512 diesel engines. With Twin Disc Reintjes WGV441 reduction gears. Turning two, 96(in) by 76(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,325 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW generator sets. Driven by two 6-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 50,100 gallons of fuel, 860 gallons of lube oil, and 1,327 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consists of a double drum, Intercon DD 200, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,200(ft) of 2(in) towing wire on each drum.
