Built in 1964, by Nichols Boat Works Incorporated of Hood River, Oregon as the Earl H. for the Knappton Towboat Company of Astoria, Oregon.

In 1988, the Knappton Towboat was restructured, reorganized, and renamed as the Brix Maritime Company of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1993, Brix Maritime was acquired by Foss Maritime of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

The tug was later converted to a cargo barge. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 330 horsepower.
