DICK BOLLINGER

Built in 1974, by the Bollinger Machine Shop of Lockport, Louisiana (hull #16) as the Dick Bollinger for the Bollinger Machine Shop of Lockport, Louisiana.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by the Norfolk Tug Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Captain D.

In 2013, the Norfolk Tug company re powered the tug with two, Tier III compliant Cummins QSK38 diesel engines. With ZF W3750 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.952:1. Turning two, 78(in) by 62(in), five bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,400 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Tier III compliant, 65kW, John Deere generator sets. The tug's capacities are 30,000 gallons of fuel, 1,600 gallons of lube oil, and 8,000 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, JonRie 500 towing machine.
