Built in 1966, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #180) as the Dixie Vengeance for Dixie Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2018, the Kirby Corporation renamed the tug as the Vengeance.

In 2021, she was acquired by Albemarle Tug Company Incorporated of Moyock, North Carolina. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA38-M0 diesel engines. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,700 horsepower.
