Built in 1979, by Verret Shipyard Incorporated of Plaquemine, Louisiana (hull #32) as the O.O. Griffin for Coastal Towing Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Lou Nataro.

In 2022, she was acquired by the Dupre Marine Transportation Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

Repowered in 2009, she is driven by two Cummins K38 diesel engines. With Caterpillar reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.22:1. The tug is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,000 horsepower.
