Built in 1980, by the Thrift Shipbuilding and Repair Company (hull #22) as the Bonnie Sue for Hollywood Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1999, the tug was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 2012, she was acquired by the Lorris G. Towing Corporation of Cut Off, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2016, the was acquired by the Danielle Marine Towing Company of Cut Off, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Chas. Guidry.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA19-M2 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
