Built in 2015, by Rodriguez Shipbuilding Incorporated of Coden, Alabama (hull #316) as the Janet D. for the Construction and Marine Equipment Company of Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Designed by Rodriguez Shipbuilding of Coden, Alabama. Named for the Construction and Marine Equipment Company's co-owner, Janet Dengel.

She is powered by two, Tier III compliant, Cummins QSK19 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MGX - 5170DC reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.95:1. Turning via two, 6(in) shafts two, 66(in), four bladed, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,320 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 45kW John Deere generator sets. The tug's capacities are 14,000 gallons of fuel, 8,000 gallons of water, and 200 gallons of slop oil.

The tug's towing equipment consists of two, 240 ton, electric, Wintech International winches mounted on the stern.
