Built in 1999, by Bollinger Shipyard Incorporated of Lockport, Louisiana (hull #345) as the Crosby Knight for the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.

In 2016, the tug was acquired by Dann Ocean Towing Incorporated of Tampa, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Stephen Dann.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3508 EUI diesel engines. With Twin Disc 540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.18:1. Turning two, 70(in) by 65(in), fixed pitch, stainless steel, four bladed propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,600 horsepower

Her electrical service is provided by two, 50kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 51,000 gallons of fuel oil, 604 gallons of lube oil, and 10,000 gallons of potable water.

The towing gear consists of a Markey, TDSD 24, double drum, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,100(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire on the primary drum. And, 1,600(ft) of towing wire on the secondary drum.
