Built in 1969, by Houma Fabricators Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #25) as the Mitzi Alario for Notly J. Theriot Offshore Incorporated of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.

In 1993, the tug was acquired by Doucet and Adams Incorporated of Galliano, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Dallas J. Adams.

In 2014, she was acquired by Gulf Coast Tugs Incorporated of LaRose, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Amy E. Hebert.

The tug was rebuilt in 1984, and then again in 2014. She is powered by two, Caterpillar 3516 DI-TW-JW diesel engines. With Caterpillar 7271 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5:091:1. Turning two 78(in) by 63.3(in) fixed pitch, propellers mounted in kort nozzles, for a rated 3,600 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Tier II compliant, 60kW, John Deere generator sets. The tug's capacities are 38,000 gallons of fuel, 700 gallons of lube oil, 200 gallons of hydraulic oil, and 8,500 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, INTERcon towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 2.75(in) towing wire.
