Built in 1972, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #273) as the David P. Guidry for the American Offshore Fleet Company Incorporated of Galliano, Louisiana.

In 1981, the tug was sold. Where the she was renamed as the Thunder.

In 1990, she was acquired by Gulf Coast Transit Incorporated. A subsidiary of the Tampa Electric Company of Tampa, Florida. Where the tug was renamed as the Sharon DeHart.

In 1990, The tug was outfitted with a Bludworth coupler system. And, she was married to the barge Doris Guenther. Measuring 500(ft) in length, with a capacity of 22,946 long tons.

In 2002, the Gulfcoast Transit Company became the TECO Ocean Shipping Company of Tampa, Florida. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2007, the TECO Transport Corporation was acquired Greenstreet Equity Partners L.P., a Miami-based private equity firm. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2013, she was acquired by United Ocean Services LLC. of Tampa, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Coastal 303. And, her barge was renamed as the Alabama Enterprise.

In 2018, the tug was acquired by Dawn Marine Services Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Southern Dawn.

In 2019, she was acquired by Port City Tugs Incorporated of Muskegon, Michigan. Where the tug was renamed as the Caroline McKee.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, Alco 16-251E diesel engines. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 5,120 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 150kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 128,652 gallons of fuel.
