Built in 1981, by Kenner Marine and Machinery of LaPlace, Louisiana (hull #84) as the King Tom.

The tug was later acquired by Andire Incorporated of of Muskegon, Michigan. Where the tug was renamed as the Barbara Rita.

She was later acquired by Lake Michigan Contractors Incorporated of Holland, Michigan. Where the tug retained her name.

The tug was later acquired by Subaqueous Services of Orlando, Florida. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2010, she was acquired by Orion Dredging Services of Jacksonville, Florida. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2011, the tug went out of documentation. Her current and or final disposition is unknown. She was a single screw push boat.
