Built in 1996, by Trinity Marine Group. A division of Halter Marine Services of Lockport, Louisiana (hull #1529) as the Z-Two for the Great Lakes Group of Cleveland, Ohio.

The tug was transferred to Tugz International of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The company was established as subsidy of the Great Lakes Group of Cleveland, Ohio.

The company specialized in design, construction and the leasing of tug boats. They also, operate tug boats, safety and rescue water craft, Military watercraft, Recreational watercraft, Marine craft systems and subassemblies, Marine craft communications systems, Marine propellers, Sails, Paddles, Marine ballast systems, Anchor chocks, Anchor lines, Anchor retrievers, Anchor rollers, Boat ramps, Boathooks, and Boom vangs.

In 2004, the tug was chartered by the McAllister Towing and Transportation Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Erin McAllister.

In 2005, she was acquired by McAllister Towing and Transportation. Where the tug retained her name. She was the third tractor tug acquired by McAllister Towing. And, the twelfth tractor tug to enter service for the McAllister Towing and Transportation Company.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516 BTA diesel engines. Driving two Ulstein 1650H z-drives mounted aft. With two, 86(in) by 81(in), four bladed, stainless steel propellers. With an additional, Caterpillar 3608B DITA diesel engine. Driving a hydraulically controlled Ulstein 580 HRV, z-drive, mounted forward for a rated 5,100 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by one, 110kW generator set. And, another 99kW generator set. The tug's capacities are 34,359 gallons of fuel oil, 503 gallons of lube oil, 1,775 gallons of potable water, and 1,572 gallon capacity of AFF foam.

She is ABS Classed +A-1 Towing, +A.M.S. Ice Class D. The tug is equipped with a fire pump, rated at 3,000 Gallons Per Minute, feeding two fire monitors.

Her towing equipment consists of an Almon Johnson, double drum, winch outfitted with 450(ft) of 7(in) Dynema line per drum. A second Almon Johnson, single Drum winch is mounted on her stern. Outfitted with 450(ft) of 7(in) Dynema line.
