Built in 1981, by Turn Ship Limited of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #16) as the Southern Coast for the North Bank Towing Company of Cut Off, Louisiana.
In 1998, the North Bank Towing Company was acquired by Odyssea Vessels Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2008, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Crosby Grace.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3412 TA diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 540, reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. Turning two, 70(in) by 62(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, for a rated 3,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW generator sets. Driven by two, GM 4-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 47,000 gallons of fuel oil, 450 gallons of lube oil, 100 gallons of hydraulic oil, and 5,000 gallons of potable water.
The tug's towing equipment consists of a double drum, Smatco 48K, towing winch. Outfitted 2,100(ft) of 1.25(in) towing wire on each drum.
