Built in 1968, by Main Iron Works of Houma, Louisiana (hull #209) as the Tester for the Southern Carriers Company of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1986, the tug was acquired by Hale Container Transport Lines of Baltimore, Maryland. Where she was renamed as the Larkin Hale.

In 1992, she was acquired by the Robbins Maritime Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Bay Prince.

In 1992, the tug was sold. Where she was renamed as the Quita.

In 1993, the tug was acquired by the River Parishes Company of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the St. James.

In 2007, the River Parishes Company was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2014, she was acquired by Toledo Enterprises Limited of Belize City, Belize. Where the tug retained her name. The tug was powered by two, General Motors, 16V-149TIB diesel engines. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 3,400 horsepower.
