Built in 1976, by the Dravo Corporation of Neville Island, Pennsylvania (hull #6377) as the A.W. Mulzer for the Mulzer Crushed Stone Company of Tell City, Illinois.

In 1999, she was acquired by the Madison Coal and Supply Company of Charleston, West Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Morris Harvey.

In 2010, the Madison Coal and Supply Company, become Amherst Madison Incorporated of Charleston, West Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Lawson W. Hamilton Jr.

Repowered in 1982. She is driven by two Caterpillar 3516 diesel engines. She is twin screw pushboat, rated at 2,200 horsepower.
