Built in 1980, by Rayco Shipbuilders and Repair Company of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #77) as the Harvey Renegade for Harvey Gulf Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Crosby Renegade.

In 2013, she was acquired by the John W. Stone Oil Distributors Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Madison Stone.

Powered by three, Caterpillar 3412 diesel engines. Turning three, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a triple screw towboat, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 38,140 gallons of fuel oil, and 1,200 gallons of potable water.
