Built in 1978, by the Louis G. Ortis Boat Company of Krotz Springs, Louisiana (hull #36) as the Foxy Lady for the Continuous Towing Company of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1985, the tug was sold. Where she was renamed as the P.A. Jones.

In 1992, she was sold. And, renamed as the Robert E. Thompson II.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Maggie Rae.

Powered by two, GM 12V-71 diesel engines. With a 6:1 reduction, turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 30kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 10,000 gallons of fuel oil, and 2,500 gallons of potable water.
