SIDNEY CANDIES (1972)

Built in 1972, by Houma Welders Incorporated of DeHoop, Louisiana (hull #27) as the Sidney Candies for Otto Candies Incorporated of Des Allemands, Louisiana.

In 2003, the tug was acquired by Tidewater Marine Services Incorporated New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the El Pato Grande.

In 2009, she was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Tara Crosby.

In 2021, the tug was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Houston, Texas.

Powered by two, EMD 12-645-E2 diesel engines. With reduction gears at a ratio of 4.12:1. Turning two, 117(in) by 96(in), four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service was provided by two, 75kW generator sets. Driven by two, GM 671 diesel engines. The tug's capacities were 72,000 gallons of fuel oil, 1,830 gallons of lube oil, and 10,000 gallons of drill water.

The towing equipment consisted of a double drum, Markey towing winch. Outfitted with 1,800(ft) of 2(in) towing wire on each drum.
