Built in 1975, by Main Iron Works of Houma, Louisiana (hull #275) as the Richard P. Guidry for Guidry Bros. Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. However, the tug was completed as the Lily M. Guidry .

She was later acquired by Harvey Gulf International Marine of New Orleans, Louisiana where she was renamed as the Harvey Commander .

The tug, was eventually acquired by Fleur De Lis Marine of Gretna, Louisiana where she was renamed as the La Commander .

She is a twin screw tug rated at 3,080 horsepower.
