Built in 2006, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #424) as the Alma S. for the Bisso Towboat Company Incorporated of Luling, Louisiana.
The tug was named for the Bisso Towboat Company's President Scott Slatten's mother, Alma Slatten.
In 2025, the Bisso Towboat Company Incorporated was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516C diesel engines. With two, Ulstein Aquamaster US205 MK2 z-drives. Outfitted with 90.6(in) by 82.4(in) pitch, four bladed, stainless steel propellers. She is a twin screw tractor tug, rated at 4,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW Marathon generator sets. Driven by John Deere diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 30,163 gallons of diesel fuel, 1,826 gallons of lube and hydraulic oil and 10,938 gallons of potable water.
Her deck equipment consists of a Market DYSF42 hydraulic winch, mounted on the bow outfitted with 500(ft) of 8(in) Saturn 12 line.
