Built in 1975, by Master Marine Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #177) as the Carol D. Eymard for the Louis J. Eymard Towing Company of Marrero, Louisiana.
In 1982, the tug was acquired by CGB Marine Services Incorporated of LaPlace, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Marie J.
In 1987, she was acquired by Central Gulf Lines Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was rebuilt and renamed as the Sea Cat.
In 2000, the tug was acquired by Garber Brothers Incorporated Morgan City, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.
Rebuilt in 2002 she is powered by two, Detriot Diesel V12-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc 514 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.16:1. Turning two, 60(in) by 46(in), fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 900 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW Isuzu generator sets. The tug's capacities are 8,500 gallons of fuel, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 4,000 gallons of water.
The towing equipment consists of two, 40 ton, Nabrico face winches.
