
Built in 1979 by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Bayou Blue, Louisiana (hull #349) as the Candice L. for the Cenac Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana.
In 1998, she was acquired by Bay Towing Industries Incorporated of Norfolk, Virginia. Where the tug was renamed as the Bay Star.
In 2009, the tug was acquired by Robbins Maritime Incorporated of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Candice L.
Originally powered by two, Cummins KT-855 diesel engines. With with 6:1 reduction gear turning two, 56(in) by 46 (in), fixed pitch propellers. She was a twin screw tug, 1,050 horsepower.
She was later repowered with two, John Deere 6135 T.2 diesel engines. With With with 6:1 reduction gear turning two, 56(in) by 56 (in), fixed pitch propellers. She was a twin screw tug, 1,200 horsepower.
Her electrical service was provided by two, 20kW generator sets. Driven by two, GM 2-71 diesel engines. However, her generators were replaced with two, 21kW Kubota generator sets
The tug's capacities are for 7,500 gallons of fuel oil, 140 gallons of lube oil and 2,860 gallons of potable water.
