Built in 1976, by Gladding Hearn Shipbuilding of Somerset, Massachusetts as the Butler for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Repowered in 1994, she is fitted with three Caterpillar 3406 diesel engines; she is a square bow pushboat rated at 1,200 horsepower.
