Built in 1943, by Ira S. Bushey and Sons Incorporated of Brooklyn, New York (hull #HA126) as the WYT-96 (USCGC WWYT-96) for the United States Coast Guard.

Upon her commissioning, she was assigned to Baltimore, Maryland and was stationed there until 1981.

In 1965, she assisted in fire fighting efforts aboard the M/V Ciudad de Nieva near Baltimore, Maryland. In 1968, the cutter assisted in fire fighting efforts at Pier 5 in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1969, she assisted in the response to a fire onboard the M/V Provence Town at Baltimore, Maryland. And, in 1979, she was utilized to haul garbage during the New York City garbage strike.

In 1981, she was transferred to Portsmouth, Virginia. Where she was assigned to light icebreaking, search and rescue and law enforcement.

In 1986, the cutter was decommissioned and was acquired Whitehorse Marine Incorporated of Norfolk, Virginia. Where the tug was renamed as the Tracie B.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by Basic Marine Incorporated of Escanaba, Michigan. Where she retained her name.

In 1998, Basic Marine Incorporated renamed the tug as the Danicia.

In 2010, she was scrapped at Escanaba, Michigan. She was a single screw tug, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
