PROASSIST III

Built in 1949, by the Nashville Bridge Company of Nashville, Tennessee (hull #757) as the Laguna for Paraland Oil Company of Chicago, Illinois.

In 1955, the tug was acquired by the Phillips Petroleum Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where she retained her name.

In 1965, she was transferred to the Commercial Transport Corporation of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

The tug was later acquired by the Torco Oil Company of Chicago, Illinois. Where she was renamed as the Torco Orleans.

In 1980, the tug was acquired by Good Hope Transportation Company Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Peck Cranston.

In 1988, she was sold and renamed as the TMS I.

In 1997, the tug was acquired by Puerto Rico Operations Incorporated of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Where the tug was renamed as the Proassist III.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by American Tugs Incorporated of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2020, she was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Guayama, Puerto Rico.

Powered by two, EMD 12–645 diesel engines. With Falk reverse / reduction gear at ratio 2:1. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW, generator sets. Driven by two, Detriot Diesel 6-71 diesel engines.
