Built in 1976, by Taylor Shipyard Incorporated of Abbeville, Louisiana (hull #2) as the J. Ann for the Taylor Towing Company of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by Superior Vessel Management Incorporated of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Superior Legend.

In 1997, she was acquired by Marsh Marine Incorporated of Chalmette, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Marsh Venture.

In 2001, Marsh Marine Incorporated renamed the tug as the Bayou Voyager.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by Grela Incorporated of Kenner, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Grela.

In 2008, she was acquired by Five 85 Incorporated of Seabrook, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Tiffany G. Barrois.

In 2013, the tug was acquired by American Tugs Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Gospel Light.

Repowered in 2008, the tug is powered by two, Cummins KTA19-M3 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 5:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,000 horsepower.
