Built in 2020, by Gulf Island Shipyards Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #6019) as the Seaway Guardian for the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation of Washington, D.C.

Powered by two, Tier IV compliant, Caterpillar 3516E diesel engines outfitted with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) after-treatment. With Kongsberg US 35 CP z-drives. She is a twin screw tractor tug, rated at 5,364 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Tier III complaint, 250kW, Caterpillar C9.3 generator sets, and one, Tier III compliant 150kW Caterpillar C7.1 generator set. The tug's capacities are 34,968 gallons of fuel, and 7,462 gallons of water.

She is outfitted with two, 1,200(lb), FFS fire monitors. Fed by two FFS SFP 250x350 XPC fire pumps, rated at 5,280 gallons per minute. Shafted to the front of the main engines, through a power takeoff.

The towing equipment consists two Patterson WWP 75E-12.5-10 230 deck winches, and a Schoellhorn-Albrecht SA1817-65-20E-G capstan on the bow. And a Markey DEP-12 tugger winch, a Schoellhorn-Albrecht SA1817-65-20E-G capstan, and a Markey TES-34UL winch with 1,000(ft) of 2(in) wire, on the stern.
