PATRICIA HOEY (1951)

Built in 1951, by Alexander Shipyard Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana (hull #480) as the Messenger for the Suderman and Young Towing Company of Houston, Texas.

Along with the Bay Houston Towing Company of Houston, Texas. The Suderman and Young Towing Company was part of a combined operating company, the G and H Towing Company of Houston, Texas.

In 1982 she was sold to Gaelic Tugboat Company of Gross Ile, Michigan. Where she was renamed as the Patricia Hoey.

In 1990 she was sold to Great Lakes Towing Company of Cleveland, Ohio. Where she was renamed New Hampshire.

In 1998 she was sold to Florida Marine Terminals Company of Miami, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Sea Tractor.

In 2000, the Florida Marine Terminals Company renamed the tug as the Shark.

In 2010, she was sunk on Haulover Reef off of Miami, Florida. Powered by a single, EMD 12-567ATL diesel engine. She was a single screw tug, rated at 900 horsepower.
