Built in 1972, by Allied Shipyard Incorporated of Larose, Louisiana (hull #139) as the Chad Eymard for United Tugs Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by the Caillou Island Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Al Cenac.

In 2004, the Caillou Island Towing Company renamed the tug as the Virgie Cenac.

In 2022, she was acquired by Dixie Towing LLC. of Jacksonville, Florida. Where the tug was renamed as the Capt. KG.

Repowered in 1993, the tug is powered by two Caterpillar 3406 diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 30kW, Cummins generator sets. The tug's capacities are 10,000 gallons of fuel, 440 gallons of lube oil, and 6,000 gallons of potable water.
