Built in 1966, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #169) as the Pamlico for the PCS Phosphate Company of Aurora, North Carolina.

In 2018, the tug was acquired by the Norfolk Tug Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Tier III compliant, Cummins QSK-38 diesel engines. With ZF W3750 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.952:1. Turning two, 78(in) by 62(in), five bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Tier III compliant, 99kW, John Deere generator sets. The towing equipment consists of a Jonrie 500 series, single drum 515 towing winch, with Capstan.
