Built in 1978, by RYSCO Shipyard Incorporated of Blountstown, Florida (hull #36) as the Tarpon for Seahorse Marine Incorporated of Ingleside, Texas.
In 2006, the tug was acquired by Brown Water Marine Service Incorporated of Ingleside, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Brown Gulf.
She is a twin screw tug, rated at 400 horsepower.
