BROWN WATER IX

Built in 1970, by Kelso Shipyard Incorporated of Galveston, Texas (hull #205) as the Kel-Kat 50 for Big Tow Barge Line Incorporated of Galveston, Texas.

In 1971, Big Tow Barge Line Incorporated renamed the tug as the Rai Elizabeth Kelso.

In 1973, Big Tow Barge Line Incorporated renamed the tug as the Fuzzy Kelso.

In 1973, she was acquired by Tug Josephine Incorporated of Galveston, Texas. Where she was renames as the Brian T.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by Brown Water Marine Service Incorporated of Ingleside, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Brown Water IX.

In 2020, she was scrapped at Ingleside, Texas. She was powered by two, GM 8V-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.5:1. She was a twin screw towboat, rated at 600 horsepower.
