Built in 2018 as the Samantha S by Diversified Marine Incorporated of Portland, Oregon (hull #387) for the Shaver Transportation Company of Portland, Oregon.

Designed to work in the Columbia River, she has a flat bow to allow her to come up against the flat of a ship's transom, acting like an outboard motor to the ship, especially in areas where there is not room for indirect escort maneuvers.

Powered by two Tier IV compliant GE 12V250 diesel engines, with two Rolls-Royce US 305 Z-drives, for a rated 8,400 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two Tier III compliant John Deere 6090A generators, and one Caterpillar C32 fire pump power plant. The tug's capacities are 103,027 gallons of fuel, 7396 gallons of fresh water, 1320 gallons of lube oil, and 2245 gallons of hydraulic oil.

The towing equipment consists one Rapp HA-149H-250 escort winch 0n the bow. And a Rapp double drum AHTW-75H-165 tow winch, with 3,000(ft) of 2.5(in) wire, and 1,000(ft) of 3.123(in) synthetic line.
