Established in 1923, the T. Parker Host Company maintains two headquarters. One on the east coast of the United States located in Norfolk, Virginia. And a Gulf Coast headquarters located in Avondale, Louisiana.

As well as maintaining offices in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

The company provides such services as a ship agency, stevedoring services services in bulk, breakbulk, as well as containerized shipping and terminal operations. As well as commodity reports, forwarding and documentation and cargo monitoring.

In 2015, the Host Company acquired the tug Ms. Janet and a smaller push boat, to transport coal in and around Baltimore, Maryland.

In 2018, the company acquired a former shipbuilding facility, Avondale Marine features 274 acres of waterfront on mile marker 108 of the Mississippi River.

The company also maintains and operates Host Davant (formerly UBT Davant) is one of the largest bulk terminals on the Gulf Coast. Located at mile 55 of the Mississippi River featuring 1,200 acres total.

In 2021, the company liquidated their towing vessel fleet and ceased towing vessel operations.
